The Sovereign Lord

“For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things.”
(All things originate with Him and come from Him)

In the story of “Job” it is symbolic of who is in charge.
The calamity brought against Job,
The upheaval, the distress
Was not an act of evil of or in itself.
Nor for the purpose of evil,
Or because of evil.
God authorized it.
Jehovah, the self-existing One.
Having given “the adversary” permission
To spew out the actions of adversity against Job.
He was the instrumentation and the orchestration of his afflictions.
This is prime example of God’s sovereignty as The Creator
Of the light and the darkness.
“I Am the Lord, Who made all things.”
“I form the light and create darkness,
I make peace, and I create evil.
(The positive and negative fields, the cause and effect,
the rhyme and the reason,
life and death, the beginning and the end.)
I am the Lord, Who does all these things.”

In fact, Job says of his affliction,
“Shall we indeed accept good from God,
And shall we not accept adversity.”

The end result here can be said to justify the means
Because of the intent and purpose being -
To prove the man, Job
To testify of the man
To validate, and attest to the man.
And to prove God -
Demonstrate, to make plain,
To reveal and exhibit the sovereignty of God.
Subject to none.

Other examples of God’s permission of adversity
And His Own bringing of upheaval glorify Him and testify of Him -
As the scriptures says of Pharaoh,
“I have raised you up for this very purpose
Of displaying my power in dealing with you…
So that My Name may be proclaimed the whole world over.”

When it was time to remove Saul as king of Israel,
“The spirit of the Lord departed from Saul and an evil spirit
from the Lord
Tormented and troubled him”

This led Saul to seek out David to soothe his troubling spirit
Through David’s playing of the lyre.
Whom God had already anointed to dethrone Saul.

An occasion arose when
“The anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel,
And the Lord moved David “

To count the number of his valiant men.
Implying a placement of confidence on human resources,
Rather than the full trust and dependence
On the might and mind of God
As was required.
David realized his mistake, too late.
And repented.
Nevertheless, God smote Israel
(First, having given David three choices of punishment
from which he could choose).
God sent a pestilence, which killed 70,000 men.
It is recorded that as the angel was destroying Jerusalem,
“The Lord beheld it and regretted and relented of the evil
(reversing His judgment).
And said to the destroying angel, ‘It is enough. Now stay your hand

As for David’s transgressions in relation to Bathsheba,
God said, “I will raise up an evil spirit against you out of your own house,
and
I will take your wives before your eyes, and give them to your neighbor,
And he shall lie with your wives.”

We later see where, “The Lord stirred up an adversary against Solomon.”
Also, “The angel of the Lord stood in the way of Balaam,
(a foreteller of events)
As an adversary against him.”

In the case of Ahab, the 7th king of Israel,
Under the influence of his wicked wife, Jezebel,
“He did much evil in the sight of God.”
There came a time when Ahab was preparing for battle
And it was prophesied to him,
“The Lord put a lying spirit in the mouths of all the prophets;
(the other prophets who declared success)
And the Lord has spoken evil concerning you (Ahab)”

Though he attempted to disguise himself,
He was nevertheless killed in battle.

The adversary willed his influence over Judas
To betray Jesus,
But the intent and purpose of God’s permission
Was to bring about Christ’s death and resurrection
For the redemption of man -
To usher in man’s re-birth in Christ.
Satan entered into and took possession of Judas.
Jesus said to him,
“What you are going to do, do move swiftly than you seem to intend,
And make quick work of it.”

When Judas had left… (for his mission) Jesus said,
“Now is the Son of Man glorified
...”

Now I ask the questions---
The what was, when was, the why is, the where…

Why was Satan made a tool of evil in the first place???
God created the Satan creature,
The adversarial force.
He was formed in his origin
With such imposing features of dignity and honor
Among the angels (the angelic sons of God).
Satan is a spirit
Permitted by God to inflict evil.
God is the Sovereign Spirit…Supreme Ruler, the Most High.
Master over all!
Everything that is created, formed and shaped
Comes by, from and through God.
Nothing that has come to pass
Has been done so outside of the will and mind of God.
Because as Sovereign Lord,
He is all power, all knowing, and all present.
JEHOVAH-Jireh! (The Lord Will Provide)
JEHOVAH-nissi! (The Lord Is My Banner)
JEHOVAH-shalom! (The Lord Is Peace)
JEHOVAH-shammah! (The Lord Is There)
JEHOVAH-tsebaoth! (The Lord of Hosts)

Nothing has come into being of itself.
“For it was in Him that all things were created,
In heaven and on earth,
Things seen and unseen,
Whether thrones, dominions, rulers of authorities;
All things were created and exist through Him
(by His service, intervention) and in and for Him.”

Of Christ,
“God chose us in Him before the foundation of the world…”
Of Jeremiah, God says,
“Before I formed you in the womb
Before you were born, I set you apart…”

In Ecclesiastes, it is written,
“Then shall the dust
(Out of which God made man’s body)
Return to the earth
From which it came,
And the spirit return to God
Who gave it.”

It is said that the angels were created
before the foundation of the world.
God says to Job,
“Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?...
When the morning stars sang together
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?!"

At some point in time
War broke out in heaven.
Satan, in an exalted position of prominence,
Chose to challenge God for power.
He opposed God -
Reared up against God for a position to or higher than God.
“Michael and his angels went forth to battle the dragon
And the dragon and his angels fought.
They were defeated.
There was no room for them in heaven any longer.
The dragon, Satan, was forced out and down to the earth,
And his angels were flung out along with him.”

With the access to influence the mind and heart of man.

It seems, some of the fallen angels, who took part in the rebellion,
were imprisoned,
While others were left free to roam about.

It is written -
“The angels who did not keep (hold to), their own first place of power
But abandoned their proper dwelling place -
There God has reserved in custody in eternal chains…til their judgment.”

Reference is made in Genesis that
“The sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair,
And they took wives of all they desired and chose.”
“There were giants on the earth in those days -
When the sons of God lived with the daughters of men.
And they bore children to them.”

(There were giants before and after the flood -as with Goliath)

When we are first introduced to Job,
The adversary
Is allowed to roam about the earth.
He is allowed to meet up with God.
Allowed to be among the sons of God
Appearing among the celestial council.
He was sent forth to challenge Job.
To bring adversity against Job.
Does this mean he is still able (as a spirit being)
To enter the celestial sphere/dimension
Though obviously stripped of his former place of honor???
And where was this??
I could further ask,
What dimension was this?
God is Lord of the universe, the cosmos.
It is claimed that NASA has discovered 11 dimensions of the universe
(as we know it thus far )
In which earth is encapsulated.

And why was Satan sent to earth?
Couldn’t God have abandoned him to some void, barren planet,
Or to some outer distance galaxy?
Seems like that would have been more of a punishment
Than being put on the big stage
Placed in the role of adversary waging war against man.

When the serpent challenged Eve to eat of the apple,
In the context that she would become like God,
Knowing good and evil.
Wasn’t that the case in point?
God knows good and evil.
He created the tree
As well as the serpent.
Without question,
There could be no good and evil
Less God caused it to be so.
We were made in His image,
As it is written…
“Let us make man in our own image.”
The source of his downfall - man’s fall from grace -
was his disobedience.
It’s a given.

Before the flood,
“The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
Every imagination and intention of all human thinking
Was only evil continually. (Except for the one just and righteous man, Noah)
And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth,
And He was grieved at heart.”

But apparently, as history reveals, Noah’s descendants
Who populated the earth after the flood,
Were still susceptible to evil,
And still under the veil of the curse over the earth.

When man disobeyed, God’s caution/command that Adam
not to eat of the tree,
They gave authority to Satan,
Gave him leadership power,
Took orders from him,
Allowed their ego to be fed by that which is said of being power hunger.
Ego = pride = superiority complex.
And man became a carnal-minded mortal being.
I get that.
So all of these sufferings and trials are due to
man’s disobedience to God’s orders??

Jesus (Yeshu’ah) , the Son of God
“The first born of all creation,”
Came to earth to pay the price for our disobedience.
God has taken full responsibility for man’s fall from his state of grace.
Thank God.
“The Son of God (the Word made flesh) gave Himself up
(to atone) for our sins,
In order to rescue and deliver us
From this present wicked age and world order,
In accordance with the will and purpose and plan of God and Father.”

Being the blueprint for man’s ascending consciousness.
As the final act in the process of God’s creation of man in His image.
The spirit being made into matter;
The invisible becoming visible;
“The visible image of the invisible God” - Seen by the naked eye.
Spirit energy conjoined in the millions-celled molecular
Body and mind of man.
The Light waves (energy of and from the Spirit) called forth
And set in motion in the beginning of time on earth.
The Light - being the Lord first became visible to us,
Then visible within us,
To be finally visible with and as us (us as He).

Yet, on the subject of God having given man free will,
The ability to think,
I have to inspect and reflect further.
Because in the same parallel dimension,
Should man use his God-given free will,
He risks the fiery trial of - “the purging of the dross.”
So what’s the point of free will?
When man really can’t use it without being trapped in the brier patch?
He is unequipped to control himself morally and responsibly.
Because of his corrupted ego.
He’s damned if he does so.
“Every man is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed
By his own evil desires.”

Yet… it is set
So that man’s free will is the very attribute which the adversary
Waits in the grass to pounce on.
He waits in broad day light
To speak to the ego -
You the star of the show, bro.
Nobody can tell you where to go.

Right.
God has placed a restriction on and limitations to man’s will
In conjunction with the laws and orders of the universe, I suppose.
In the realm of positive and negative energies.
Spirituality and carnality make duality a reality.

Another thought - God gave man free will so that man will see himself
for who and what he is in relation to God.

I also recognize God’s intent and purpose is to redeem man
In and through Christ.
“For as in Adam all die,
Even so in Christ shall all be made alive.”

We are on a soldier’s journey.
I say, as David,
“I am Your passing guest,
A temporary resident,
As all my fathers were.”

I feel like… personally,
I’ve been sent on a special assignment.
It is a quest, a bequest, an inquest, and a conquest.
To travel across the land of space and time,
To loosen the ties that bind,
To speak to the mind -
Enlightenment, transformation and breakthrough.

I acknowledge, of course
That many of God’s ways are too high for me to see into -
at present.
(Though my friend, James Lee, continues to remind me,
I (we) have the mind of Christ
Who sits at the right hand of the Father
And so, we know all things).
Then I read in Ecclesiastes,
“None of us can ever fully understand all He has done,
And He puts questions in our minds
About the past and the future.”

I have studied and continue to study (to show myself approved)
The teachings on the reconciliation process,
Of God’s plan…
“To completely reconcile back to Himself all things,
Whether things on earth or things in heaven,
As through Him
By making peace by the means of the blood of His cross.”

But it doesn’t answer my questions of why the set up.
It’s more than what we see written in pen and ink.
It has to be so much more to it than meets the eye -
Even when looking through a telescopic lens
into the massive ever expanding cosmos.
There’s great order in the universe for sure.
And I’m sure so much of what God does
Has to do with the order of things -
The laws laid down before time began.
Circular motion -
As in the circular rotations of the seasons,
Makes me reflect on the Ecclesiastes scripture verse,
“Everything that happens has happened before,
And all that will be has already been.
God does things over and over again.”

Many have asked the question,
Why such evil?
As with the likes of the crusades, Hitler, Stalin, Native American genocide,
Rwanda, the Sudan, the rape of the little children,
And on and on and on and on and on and on………

I don’t think any completely satisfying answer has been found.
That I know of, anyway.
Though, there are men who have entered in the spirit realm
Surpassing me by leaps and bounds. They may perhaps know.
Or think they know.
There are those who don’t require answers.
They are satisfied with God just being God.
There are those who are afraid to pose such questions to God.
Who are we to question God, some think.
I faithfully acknowledge that God is an awesome power,
Greatly to be praised.
His majesty is breathtaking.
Oh how His Presence overwhelms me!
From the highest mountain tops
to the depths of the seas to shining seas.
And all that He is in me to be.
Actually, His love is all I need, really.
Yet, I am made - “a student of life.

In the book of Job,
It is concluded that God’s purposes are beyond man’s comprehensions.
But, I have an assignment to complete.
To discover and uncover.
“It is the glory of God to conceal a thing,
But the glory of kings to search out a thing.”

I have been gifted an inquiring mind.
A seeker of truthful knowledge,
guided wisdom and simple understanding.

I see clearly that
It is through the opposing forces that we develop strength.
And of course,
Adversity builds character.
Lifting weights build muscles.
I recognize too,
That God allows things to come against his sons
To reveal what’s inside of them,
To bring to the surface the encased dross which needs to be purged.
We must also be challenged in order to reach empowerment.
The lessons of the over-comer are necessary curriculum for spiritual growth.
And it is through testing
That the intellect is verified,
The mind, the body, the spirit, is proven.

At the end.

I’m left with this verse…
“Shall misfortune or evil occur and the Lord has not caused it?
Surely the Lord God will do nothing without revealing His secret to His servants
the prophets.”

God’s
Rest
Enters
At
This
Time!!

Blessings,
I am,
Ruth
