WE L.U.S.T.

We all
Entertain
Lust when we fall
Under the spell of
Salacious
Temptations and
Titillation’s ruminations

Everybody does
In one manner
Or another
Mama, daddy,
Sister, brother
Either one, or
The other
Long ’bout
A wish or want
To have
A little
Or a lot
Rousing in cravings
Infused in brain ravings
Scintillating
Stimulating
Fascinating
Vibrating under the mat
Like this
And
Like that

Hidden under
The covers
Underneath
The bed sheet
Where
Images
Creep ’n
Seeping into the deep
…In
Invigorating
Exhilarating
Motivating
Tempt-u-os designs
Turning minds
‘Round
In fits
Of fantasy
When appetites
Invite delight

Captured
In the net of
An itch
Which
Yen and yang
The wits to twitch
For a little
Knick-knack
With a little tit
For a little tat

Maybe
A new hat
For Jill
Or Jack

Hankering
To
Wander
About
In naked gardens
Blossoming-in
The meandering wind
Careening
Through the lilies of the fields
Gleaming in the hot mist it yields
In dreaming
Of this and that
If…
Or
When the whiff
Of a little bit
Of snatch
Attack
Like that for a Big Mac

Intertwine
Underlined
Dining
At buffets of fat
Baby back
Ribs
And buckets of
Butter-fried
Stuff-ed
Mussels with hot sauce
Dribbling with
Dis and dat
Slip
Between the cat-nip
Scratch

Of cat
Meowing strays
Prowling
The alley ways
Crawling over
The rain wet floors
On all fours
Sniffing the scent
Left on the park bench
Of intent to entice
And consent to the price
Or whatever
Matter-of-lack
Impact

On
A wish
For a side dish
A want
Of a way to play
In the dark part
Smothered in
Lingering
Candle wax
Burning
To the nub
Flickering out
In the
Haste to rub
Pitty-pat

Yearnings
To fill the soul
Aching
To plug
The hole
When the bubble burst
Open to
Desire under the Elms
Where nature dwells
And stirs the wellsprings

Of lust

Deeply embedded
In the best
And all the rest
Of us

It is in the nature
Of the human flesh
Formed from the dust

“All the labor of ‘man’ is for his mouth -
For self-preservation,
For enjoyment.
And yet, his appetite (his desire) is never satisfied.” Eccl. 6:7
