Sitting Under My Little Tree

A Thursday in July

Sitting outside
Among the green trees
Casting out from themselves
The fallen leavings
Floating away, twirling to the ground.

The lizard slithers
Under the generator,
Slinking across the left over brown leaves
From winter past.

The wasp flitters about
The grass in search of something sweet to eat
And suckle its contents
While at play in the day.

I sit with a book,
“Little Bee,” by Chris Cleave,
Heartbreaking and hauntingly masterly written
Against the backdrop of pride and prejudice,
Sorrow and lost,
The crudeness of life spent
In Imprisonment
Where waving the flag to the Queen
Is one man’s dream
And another man’s disaster.

And so I say to the Lord,
Release me from my own cell
Into the light of this glorious new day
I pray,
To greater serve you well
In all that I do and say.

*********

The clouds bask in the sky
Overlooking the valleys low
Clustered about
Like candy coated kittens
Wearing white colored mittens
Entering into the crevice
Of the life Giver
As rain forms in wet blankets
To sprinkle the earth with its dew
To renew
Our earthen walls,
Who calls…
“Come forth
And refresh me.”

*********

It’s thundering now -
The call of the wild -
Around about where I continue to sit
Under my small Little Bee tree,
Eating raisin bread and cold chicken.

It’s gonna rain chilllun
God’s gonna send the waters from Zion.
It’s gon rain
O My Lord,
It’s gonna rain…

Praise God
For the rain
Which flows and rushes
Against river banks
Out to the sea
Where the wind carries
My soul onward to Thee.

Glory hallelujah to ya, Lord!

*********

I just felt the first faint drop.
It was like
A tick without the tock.
The clouds cover and hover about the sky space
In gray swelled baskets
Bursting to give a cup to the earth’s thirst for water.

Water! water! Give me a drink
Before I faint!”
Says the little speck of ant.

Yeshu’ah, the Deliver,
I call His name…
I hope not in vain,
To bring the rain
In Spain
On the plain
Again
Today.

While the little birds stay
Nestled in the bush leaves
Taking shelter from the coming reprieve.

The squirrel
Squirrels away…
Stopping to listen to the drumbeats of thunder’s voice
To when it is he will crack open the clouds
And splatter rain matter onto his empty platter.

And the thunder beat goes on..
Clapping hands like a rock band
As the lightning skips
Zip pi di do da
From afar.

Not yet…not yet…
But don’t fret,
Speaks the song
In the summer wind.
Your needs will be met.
Hold on, I’m coming…

The little birds chirp in their own request…
Tip toeing through the tulips.
…Til the rain began its holy descent…
The flip flop plops
Coming now in plentiful drops
As the soft breeze from the summer seas
Sweeten the trees with wet tears
Streaming from irises eyes
On mountain skies.

The sun peeks out
And alights about the trembling branches
Of waiting tree limbs
Waiting yet another minute
To be caught up in the rapture of love
In the air
Like Paris blues
Bringing the
Raindrops falling on my head.

I don’t want to go in yet.
Maybe this small tree
Will shelter me from the shower’in heaven’s dew
For a few.
So I can sit and smell the place
Where my Mama came to rest
In the dust
On the earthen floor
After she was no more
Walking in the rain with me
In the dust tracks we made
On the road to Tripoli.
Even though it was really
Georgia on my mind.

*********

The rain has stopped…
After only a few sprinkled minutes.
The horizon’s skies move into other forms
Of nature’s glory here
On this heavenly planet earth of our blessed birth.

This is the day
This is the day
That the Lord has made
That the Lord has made
We will rejoice
We will rejoice
And be glad in it.

(Special note: As my daughter, Vanessa was driving home,
at the time I was sitting under my little tree,
she saw a perfect rainbow cast in the sky,
and saw a cluster of bright white clouds in the midst of the dark clouds...
which brought forth the sun. Praise God!)

Amen, amen, amen!!!

Morning Time

I just want to share with you my morning time,
which stemmed from last evening
being in the presence of God.

This is what I wrote...

I was sitting under a small tree
reading "Little Bee." (Written by Chris Cleave)
The rain clouds threatened,
and then un-threatened to send the rain on the plain.

Again the clouds darkened,
the wind whipped up a little stronger
under my tree
with its wide-armed dress skirt
flared out over my head.

When I reached the last line in my book,
the rain showered out of the clouds
pouring down around me
under my little tree.
At the same time,
the sun shone in
through the expanse of clouds -
making the scene as that of light rays
splayed upon the soil and the grassy mounds
upon the ground where
I am found.
It was as if it were baptismal showers.

I folded the book and my notebook in my arms,
and hugged them against my chest
to keep them from getting wet...
as a few drops fell here and there on and about me.

I sat looking out...
thinking about the story of Little Bee,
a young girl forlorn and torn against the torn fabric of society
within her native Nigeria.
It had left a saddened and haunting affect on me.
Yet at he same time,
seeing God
in His dwelling place
shining His glory on us.
And saying to me,
"I know its a tragic story.
I hurt for the child as you.
But My light shines in the darkness,
and the day is dawning
when the light will cast out the darkness
and all will be new.
Just you wait
and see.
I am He who casts the sun
in the midst of the rain."

God said this morning
as I took my place in His loving arms,
sharing the thoughts which abound,
"I can break through storm clouds.
I am the mighty God.
The dark clouds separate
at My Presence.
I am almighty God.
Though the storms roar all about,
I am in the midst of thee
and I am MIGHTY!!
Even when the storm clouds
gather across the land,
the sun shines still
over behind the clouds.
Always
the sun shines.
The sun never ceases to shine.
God Almighty is as the sun
shining behind the clouds.
He breaks through
in the midst
and His glory is present in the midst,
as He is the Almighty
one sun -
as the Son of God, Yeshu'ah - the Deliver of light
is the Lord of the universal forces.
His power is from cover to cover -
every cover of the globe.
He is the light of the world,
and all of nature is the witnesses
to His glory.
The rainbow speaks My voice across the sky,
saying, yes it is I.
I am the Lord of all.
I am the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
And all that dwells within."

My response being,
This is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice and be glad in it.
Hallelujah!! Judah inhabits the praises of the Lord!!
So be it.
Amen.
(9:18 on Friday on the A.M. time,
July 24 2009)

Then I said the prayer (in song) given to us by the Lord,
Our Father....
Who art in heaven,
hallow be Thy Name,
Thy kingdom come
....Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven....
Give us this day,
our daily bread (all that which we need in body, mind, soul and spirit)
Forgive us us of our debts, our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation.
And deliver us from evil...
for thine is the power
and the glory
forever. Amen.

My Love, Ruth

In the Beginning

.
Genesis

Is the first word
In the Hebrew text,
And given the name in the Hebrew as bereshith.

Genesis is a book of firsts,
As it records the births
Of earth’s beginnings.
It is poetry in motion
Of immeasurable proportions.

Genesis records the beginning of life on earth.
The birth of time.
The word, Genesis
Means - origin, source,
Creation of coming into being of something.
It is the coming into being by God,
Of God,
For God,
With God,
As God.
Everything
Being part of and in God.

It a documentation and revelation
Of earth’s history.
Of man and his kind,
As drawn from God’s mind.

It is the beginning story
Of that which exists in our midst.
Of all that our life consists.

It is the seed of life planted.
Life granted
To this earth land.
And given to God’s created man.

In the Genesis beginning
Of the formation,
The creation
Of the heavens and the earth,
Almighty God
Stepped out into the deep
Where He called forth its birth.
He fashioned and formed
An area shadowed
In a darkened space.
And empty waste.
Without face,
Or formalized place.

The Spirit of mighty God
Moved and hovered over the waters.
He stepped out into the wilderness of darkness,
And spoke
To life
And said,
“ Light! Come! Awake!
And see!
Come forth!
And be!
A rendering of Me!"

And light came.

God saw this illuminated sight
And He said of it,
“This is good indeed!
I have planted my first seed!"

Mighty God set onward
To separate the light from the darkness.

He spoke to the light,
“You shall be ‘ the day.'"
To the darkness,
He said to it,
You shall be called ‘night.’”

It was now made known
The daylight to nightlight of the first day.

After which, God looked to His Head
And said,
“Let there now come into being
A firmament on high
The expanse of the sky
In the midst of the waters
And let it separate the waters down below
From the waters above.”

And it was done accordingly.

God called where the firmament lay
By the name -
“The Heavens.”
Having come into the light of the second day.

He then looked about the waters
Under the heavens gate,
And he collected them
Into one standing place.
And as with a quick motion of his painter’s hand,
He called out to the dry land
To appear in the role of “the Earth.”
He accumulated and assimilated
The waters round and about
And placed them in the picture
As “the Seas.”

God sat back a minute
And surveyed
What He had created
Thus far
Admiring His knitting,
And thought it perfectly fitting.
He was quite satisfied with His design
And so continued
Creating out of His mind
To bring the earth into a fruitful vineyard,
Composing fields to yield
Tender vegetation with its seedlings.
Heeding God’s beseeching
To further carry on
The process of regeneration, rejuvenation,
restoration and procreation

Where each tree would formulate its own seeds
Inborn to repopulate
The earth continuous new birth
From time on.

It was God’s handiwork
Being executed.
To give life in abundance
According to the riches of His glory.
He saw that it was a good and splendid
Foretelling of a grand ole story
And He was glad in it.

After this the third day
Of preparation
And manifestation -

God fixed His eyes on the firmament,
The expanse of the heavens,
To separate the day from night.
So He cast into the framework
In the expanse of the sky
Lights on high
To be as signs and tokens
Of the significant events
In portraying the mark of God’s providence.
A testament to
God’s omnipotent magnificence
In the universal sphere
Here
Where
The seasons of the years,
The days of life spent,
And the eons of times,
Are guided by the lights
In the heavens upon the earth’s orbiting rotation
Within and around the globes
Of the two great lights -
The sun beam and the moon gleam.
So placed
To rule
The day and nights
In the order of their appearance and adherence
To the laws set forth
In the firmament of the heavens,
For earth’s enlightenment
And times spent.

God was pleased with the life being born
This work was hailed with good and well done.
Having been completed as the fourth day’s event.
When the night was separated from the day.

On the fifth day,
God rose up to speak to the waters.
He called forth into their midst
An abundance of living creatures.
He formed birds to fly in the sky
With wings outstretched in every direction,
In every likeness and kind.
From the intellect and imagination of the Creator’s Mind.
He created great and abounding sea monsters.
And every kind of living creature of the waters.
To move within the realm of the oceans and seas,
Abounding with creatures of its kind and likeness,
With the resounding resonance of God’s blessings
Of fruitfulness and productiveness.
Therein
Giving them the order of duplication and multiplication,
To fill the waters in the seas.
He gave the fowls charge
To reproduce upon the earth of its kind
Throughout the land of time.

God was not done yet -
For He said next, on the sixth day,
“Let the earth bring forth living creatures
Of wild beasts and mammals
Domesticated animals
Livestock and game
Cattle, horses and sheep
Everything that crawls and creep
Every variety in animal society,
Every immensity and propensity,
In large and small proportion,
Every size, scale, scope and range,
In all shapes and degrees of being.”
As varied as those we are presently seeing.
And it was so
From the word go

Then God went on to say
On this the same sixth day,
Communing within Himself,
Being as He is,
The Father/Mother, The Christ, and the Holy Spirit
All in One,
“Let us make mankind -
Being male and female
As in Our Own image,
After Our likeness.
And Let us give them charge -
With complete authority,
As Our keepers and shepherds,
Our custodians, and guardians
Over all that We have created on the earth.
They shall be responsible as caretakers of this earth land
From the waters to the sands.
From sea to shining sea.
From the oceans to the valleys.
From the mountains to the prairies.
We bless them with fruitfulness and fullness of life,
Giving life,
Bringing into life
As man and wife.
As being life, to share in life, to enjoy life,
Having all the richness of an abundant life
To continue life’s existence and subsistence
Into the far-reaching time and distance -
As far as the east is from the west,
They are blest with
The best of Our best.”

God gave man and woman
Use to all the land’s resources
In the service of God and man.
He gave man charge to have dominion over all the fish in the seas,
The birds that fly across the sky.
Even the air we breathe.
Man was given dominion on every living creature
That moves upon the land.

Every plant yielding seed was given to man,
Every tree with seed in its fruit
Was given as his feed
Everything which there is
To be his.
The breath of his very life was given to man out of
The very mouth of God Almighty.
From God’s own womb,
From His own bearing,
Man was established in the finished work of bringing forth
All that earth was created to be.
All in the plan of, “the Great I Am He.”

God looked over His creation - His workmanship - “His tour de force”
And beheld its glory.
It was a beautiful sight to behold.
It was a wonderful Onederful completion to the sixth day
In the story of life to continuously unfold
From the days of old -
When the heavens and the earth
Were foretold,
Of all that dwell therein
When called forth to…
Begin.

God had completed His masterpiece,
Which He had done without cease.
He set it apart
As His own heart.
Belonging only to God,
Out of God’s own being.
He blest it -
Making it holy unto Himself.

After which,
On the seventh day,
As you can guess,
God took His rest.

This is God’s History story.
His story of His making, His crafting, His composing,
The creation of the heavens and the earth.
Having been given birth
In the day and time
When the Lord God
Ushered in
His life
As manifested on earth and the heavens.
When God set the stage to bring life
When God breathed His breath into life
When God spoke the words to life
When God cast the characters in life
When God performed the acts of life
When God penned the story called life
When God said, “Let there be life!
When God said,
“Life! Begin!”

Amen!!!

The End
By Ruth

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works
(the entirety of things created)” Ps. 145.9

Looking at “Spring”

.
The word spring
Is defined with several characteristics

Spring is assigned to mean -
Move suddenly (as in a flash) upward or forward;
Move quickly by elastic force,
such as a device that recovers its original shape
when it is released after being distorted
(having properties of the word - resilience);

Spring
denotes -
To grow quickly,
(as in, “The flowers bloomed overnight”);

Spring i
s used -
To describe, making known suddenly,
(as in, “Surprise!”);
To come from by birth or descent;

Spring
can imply -
To develop a leak through the seams;
It is also used in referring to a source of supply,
(as in - water from the ground).

The word Spring
Is most commonly and most frequently known
As the season between winter and summer.

Spring is also used
In relation to other words -
as with…

Springboard
-
Which derives its usage in meaning
Vaulting,
or a tool used for diving;

Spring fever
-
Characterizes a restless feeling of sorts
often associated with the onset of springtime;
Spring tide -
Describes a greater-than-average range
that occurs at each new moon and full moon.

As “Spring relates to today,
I see Spring to be
The beginning
Of a brief moment in time
When the season calls forth
New buds to come into the light
of the newly arising suns(sons)
being seated on the horizon
Called forth to…
”Come fly with me”
As summoned by the gentle voicings
of my friend, the flurrying wind
who speaks to the word -
Begin!!

Amen, amen
Ruth

My beloved speaks and says to me, Rise up, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away.” (Song of Solomon 2:10)

ODE to NEW YORK

My city that I love

Gabriel blew his horn
And a city was born
Surrounded by great waters
Whose sweeping currents channeled the river’s edge
To bed along the shores of infamous scope
With peaks and boundaries rising high in the distant sky
A city of intrepid legends
Casting characters from as far and wide as the oceans lie
Grand centrally stationed
Stately and majestic in regal stones
And lofty capped domes
Sitting stoically atop
A mass of rails running beneath its wings
Transporting hubs of nations
From far reaching locations of multifaceted vocations
Careening across the town
To places chorus-lined along metropolis’ pathways
Under rushing feet strutting and striding
Hoofing through the streets night and day
On rock-hard concrete and cold gray clay
Seizing the chance to bathe
In green pastured parks center-crowned
Like Paris roses
blooming in April’s budding springtime fare
Stirring heaven’s air
On walks around placating lakes
And sunshade mantles
To take up broad ways linked
To where village cohorts
Of gay Tonys in toni tops
Flock with pop rock jocks
And where the geese and gander hips hop
With the Jennys from the block
Savoring the sporting life

Escapading in escalades cruising
Down around where NoHo and SoHo
Engage the Tribeca mecca
Where rapturous exhibitions of succulent scents
Intense the taste of fine wines
Under bright sea blue tents
To complement the pricey marks
Of over the top signature shops
As do subdued splendor
Render
the spender
splish splatter matter
Sold to the highest bidder
All in a twitter

Framing the backdrop
Of bus stops
To cloistered tenements
Where shadows walk
Over cracked cement,
East and west side drives,
And river boat rides
To uptown and downtown malls and stalls
Here and yonder
Where
On the street files the miles
Of meeting places
In crowded places
Blurring the many faces
Into a jazz matazz of many “Me’s”
And old-money “we’s”
Up on the roof of terraced plaza tops
Overlooking scenes serene
Depicting twilight
And moon night strolls
Along winding roads
And the valley streamings
Uptown
To where
Ladies sing the blues
In cafes, cabarets,
and back street byways
Whispering the wind songs tunes
To write the plight and might
Of the ocean waters overflowing onto the beach sands
Rushing against the winds of time
Since been
When children splashed and dashed about
Without a shadow of a doubt
That sun’s shining in would never end
That the bright white light
Might cast a shadow of blight
Over Park Avenues’ hues
And brown stones tones
Where the he and she of prosper proportions
Eat their due
While some of you
Eat from the winter cold stone soup kitchens
From trash can empty wishes
And beggar bag lunch dishes
In the sinking sub-mariner
Around and about timeless, mindless, dimeless strongholds
Lining the closets
Of unforeseen bridges and ridges
Over the rainbow rooming houses
Built in a space and place
Where throngs feast on the sights of neon magic times
Their square meal table filled with treats
Placed before visiting hordes
From around the world
Every boy and girl
Bearing images of where was it you came from?
Who came to dance in the streets
To the inner city drum beats
Rapping the stomp laid
by the D train bombers brigade
And let’s don’t forget the “them there mets”
Scaling the giant wall of regrets
Compounded daily with New York jet-fueled fever
Pitching yankee doodle dandy tunes
Of the times paper chase
Covered in gray matters
And tatters on who done it or won it
With consumer platters
Served up on sky rocketing markets
To high rising exchanges
Filling in the gap
On the mapped out
Where to go from
Where is
What the hell is
What for
When the lights black out
On the open-ended night
While the sea walks barefooted
And flails against the insane brain
Who can’t sustain the driving rain
Propelling the sweltering heat blanket
In the sky’s overcoat mist
Like foggy London town
Down under the ocean floor board
Who will survive the deep river veins?
To surface on the waves of chance
To walk in
And carry out
Chinese food and pizza bread
Cooking in the melting pot
While waiting in line for the hot spot
To open up door strings
Attached to web pages
And contact paper plates
Sold in knick-knack stores
on Union Square market places
In the hub bub of screeching sirens,
Blasting horns, stalking pigeons,
Dog walkers,
Bootleg Hawking hawkers,
Ant hill mounds,
Rolling thunder sounds
Languages to confound
“Yo, it’s the po po!”
Meaning, “the NYPD is after me. So I gotsta flee!”
Flip the switch and there’s the chick
Wearing daring dagger eyes
Smarting, “Don’t you look at me!”
Crossing in front of the taxi seacoast
Wishing on a star on Broadway
By the light of the silvery moon beam
Hoping to be seen in the stage-struck courtyard
Banking on a good lead part
To say
Hey,
I was here today
On a warm day in May

The trumpet sounded
For a New York minute
And I was in it

It’s almost like being in love

Whether you live like Trump
Or live in a dump
You can make it there…
Where
It’s up to you
To do,
Or not…
Hey,
It’s your way.
...or the highway
That’s all I gotta say
Oh..
And...uh
Have a nice day.
Peace out.

The Vineyard

.
"The trees said to the grapevine,
Come and reign over us."
(Judges 9:12)
A plant whose stem requires support
and which climbs or trails along the ground.
The mother city - Jerusalem,
was like a vine planted by waters,
It was fruitful and full of branches.
The land of the Israelites flowed with milk and honey,
and the luscious grape -
which bespeaks the joy of the Lord -
was the fruit of it. (Number 13:27)
He brings forth food out of the earth,
and wine that makes glad the heart of man. Ps. 104:15

Galileo once said,
Wine is a mix of water and the sun.

On the third day after He was made known,
The Son of God turned water into wine
during a marriage feast in Galilee.
It was the custom on such occasions to serve the good wine first;
When men had drank liberally,
that which is not so good is served.
But when the new wine, which Jesus instrumented, was served,
It was praised and commended that the best wine
had been kept until the end.
This miracle act by the Son
accentuated the birthing of God’s new order now arising.
The glory of the Son was manifested,
His greatness and power was openly displayed.
And his disciples, having witnessed the act,
believed
He was indeed the Son of God. (John 2:1-11)

Jesus,
(after the order of Melchizedek, priest of the Most High God,
who brought forth bread and wine and blessed Abraham. Gen. 14:18),
said,
I am the true vine
And My Father is the farmer, the vine-dresser.
I am the vine.
You are the branches.
He that abides in Me, and I in him,
the same brings forth much fruit. (John 15:1-5)
You have not chosen Me,
but I have chosen you and I have appointed you,
(I have planted you)
that you might go and bear fruit
and keep on bearing fruit,
And that your fruit may be lasting… (John 15:16)

A vineyard of red wine, beloved and lovely,
I the Lord do keep;
(which My right hand has planted).
I will water it every moment
Lest any harm come to it.
I will keep it night and day. (Is.27:2-3)
I will sing to My well-Beloved a song of My Beloved
concerning His Vineyard.
My well-Beloved has a vineyard in a very fruitful hill. (Is. 5:1)
It was planted in a good soil by great waters,
that it might bring forth branches (made strong),
that it might bear fruit,
and that it might become a splendid vineyard. (Ez. 17:8)

Blessed be His glorious name forever;
let the whole earth be filled with His glory.
Amen and amen. (Ps. 72:19)

“No one pours new wine into old wineskins, else the new wine will burst the wineskins,
it will be spilled and the skins will be ruined (destroyed).
But new wine must be put into new wineskins; and both are preserved.
No man after drinking old wine immediately desires new;
for he will say the old is better.” ( Luke 5:37-39)

“By faith, Abraham, when he was called, obeyed
and went forth to a place which he was destined to receive as an inheritance;
and he went… (Heb. 11:8)

Blessings to you in the season time of “Kairos” -
Season of bringing in the harvest;
Season of opportunity
Season of fulfillment.

The Gospel of the Tabernacle

.
God said,
“I will have my people make me a sanctuary
so that I may dwell among them.”

He said to Moses - of the tribe of Levi,
“There I will meet with the Israelites
And the Tent of Meeting shall be sanctified by My Glory.”

God’s instruction to Moses
in the construction of the structure
and the conduction process,
the tabernacle
was to be made into two compartments -
as the inner sanctum.

The holiest section part
was sanctioned
as the “Holiest of Holies”
or as some describe it - “The Most Holy Place”
containing
“The Ark of the Testimony”
Wherein was placed the tablets
Whereupon were written
The “Ten Commandments of God.”

The Ark was made of wood
of the beautiful yellow flowering Acacia Tree,
referenced to grow in Africa and Australia.
To be overlaid with pure gold.
The Ark symbolized the humanity (the wood)
and the deity (pure gold)
of the Messiah Who was to come.

The Ark’s
craftsmanship
consisted of four acacia wood poles, by which The Ark was carried.
overlaid with pure gold.
And inserted trough golden rings
on the four under-side corners.
The body of The Ark
was made of a one piece unit of gold.

“The Mercy Seat
was placed on top of The Ark of the Testimony.
It was also made of pure gold,
With two golden cherubim figures on the two ends -
their faces to one another,
their wings spread outward
across The Mercy Seat,
looking in a downward direction.
(Cherubim are ministering spirits manifesting God’s invisible presence
symbolizing His actions and purpose,
and displays God’s majesty).

There was also
"The golden pot of manna (the bread of heaven)."
And "the budding rod of Aaron."
(Aaron's rod was the only Staff that produced buds,
blossoms and almonds.
Indicating God's choice of Aaron and his descendants as priests.)

A veil - to shield,
made of finely twined blue, purple and scarlet linen
and embroidered with cherubim figures,
was hung in the tabernacle upon four acacia wood pillars
overlaid in pure gold.
To separate the Most Holy Place,
from the Holy Place.
Concealing the Divine.

The Holy Place
(Also referred to as the priests’ office, and place of worship)
held a table made of the acacia wood overlaid in pure gold -
where was placed
The Sacred Bread of the Presence.
To be set before the Lord always.
It symbolized Christ sustaining us.

Next was “The Lampstand” of pure gold of course.
Made of one piece,
with three branches coming out from The Lampstand on both sides.
A seventh branch was made at the top of the shaft.
The Lampstand,
to be lit every night by the high priest,
symbolized the enlightenment of the coming Messiah.

“The Altar of Incense”
was a small golden altar
placed before The Ark and The Mercy Seat
just outside the veil to the Holiest of Holies.
It was too made of acacia wood overlaid in pure gold,
with horns erected on its four corners - symbolizing strength.
And a golden crown carved upon it.
All made of one piece.
All utensils used were also made of pure gold.

On top of the Altar rested "the golden censor in which
Sacred incense of sweet spices,
was burnt on the altar -
lit every morning and every evening by the priests.
Sacred incense symbolized praise and prayer.
Holy anointing oil was also placed on the altar -
a symbol of the Holy Spirit.

Once a year
the offering of blood
was put upon the horns
by the high priest.
As required for the cleansing -
the atonement of sins.

The Altar of Burnt Offerings” -
the bronze altar
was crafted on a larger scale and scope.
Made of acacia wood
with horns on its four corners overlaid in bronze.
And too made of one piece.
All utensils used here were made of bronze.

This altar
was placed in the courtyard of the tabernacle,
a short distance from and in front of the doorway to the Tent of Meeting.
A laver (a basin for water),
for washing the hands and feet of the priests before entering the tabernacle,
was placed in front of the altar.

Two young unblemished lambs
were offered on the altar
each day.
One in the morning
and one in the evening.
Also a bowl of grain was placed on the altar
in remembrance of God’s favor.

A bull was used for the sacrificial sin offering for the once a year atonement ritual.

The altars symbolized
and foretold
Christ the Messiah Who was
to come.
And Who “was so”
as in being “Immanuel” (God with us)…
interceding on our behalf.
The sacrificial Lamb of God
Whose death and shed blood
was and is the purifying blood shed for the sins of man.

The curtained tent over and about the tabernacle
was made of the finely twined linen
with embroidered cherubim.
Its fasteners to make the curtain one unit,
were made of pure gold
overlaying acacia wood poles.
The tent was over-covered about with goat’s hair, ram and dolphin skins.

The doorway into the Tent of Meeting from the court
was shielded by a screen covering of the same finely twined blue,
purple and scarlet linen.

The courtyard,
where the congregation gathered,
was enclosed round about in fine twined linen.
Its pillars joined together with silver rods.

When all the pieces were assembled,
when all the work was done,
and Moses finished erecting the structure -
in compliance with the rendered composition -
a cloud covered the tabernacle…
“And the glory of the Lord filled the temple…”
as a symphonic sound
I can hear even now.
Hallelujah!

God chose Moses’ brother, Aaron and his sons to be set apart
as ministers unto the Lord.
They were called into holy service
as God’s priests.
Aaron and his sons were sanctified,
anointed and ordained by Moses.
Under God’s precise instructions.
They were robed in specially woven holy garments
of the finest materials (to show dignity and honor),
made of the finely twined linen in gold, blue, purple and scarlet
worn over white linen trunks.
Complete with gold belts and etched pomegranates
circling the skirt of the robe
of the high priest.
A turban with a gold crown plate bearing the words, “Holy unto the Lord,”
was worn on his head.

Two engraved precious stones with the names of the 12 tribes of Israel
were worn on the shoulder straps of the vest
of Aaron as high priest, the only priest allowed to enter into
the Holiest of Holies,
until and when he designated his sons to follow in his stead.
The role to be passed on to their descendants
as the successors of the high priest chain.
As it was directed -
that it be from the tribe of Levi
the priest would come. (See end note 2)

These were the requirements
under the doctrine of the “Old Testament” -
as it is written.

But now, my friends,
as the “New Testament”
testifies -
as it is so -
Christ has acquired a priestly ministry which is far more superior
and far more excellent than the old.
The covenant, of which He is the mediator,
is superior and more excellent
because it is enacted
and rests
upon
higher and nobler promises.
yeshu’ah (in the Hebrew/Aramaic for the name “Jesus” -
so translated by the Greek) descended from the tribe of Judah
in His earthy humanity.
Not from the priestly tribe of Levi.
And it is not recorded in the biblical scriptures that He ever entered
into the Holy Places of the Temple
erected by man’s hands.
Signifying…
a new order in the making.

And Christ the Messiah (the anointed one)
Has come
As our High Priest - forever.
And went once,
and for “ALL,”
into the Holiest of Holies of Heaven
by His own bled, shed, sacred blood -
the sacrifice of His own blessed life,
as a complete atonement,
and everlasting redemption.

Not only that,
upon His death (death for the sins of the world),
the veil which separated the Holy Place and the Holiest of Holies
was rent, ripped, split, slit, torn open
from top to bottom
for us -
our access into the holy essence
of God’s very presence.

And we
are the disciples of Christ -
To be followers -
Members of the sonship -
The descendants.
A kingdom of priests.
Under the order of the “Highest Priest forever.”
“You are a chosen race…a royal priesthood, a dedicated holy nation…”

Praise the Lord, Immanuel (God with us)
yeshu’ah/Jesus (the savior, the deliverer)
Praise the Lord Christ Messiah (the anointed one).

As Christ symbolizes all of the components,
compartments, configurations, specifications,
the ingredients,
and the manifestation,
and the revelation
of the tabernacle,
Christ’s Spirit, His Light, dwells within us.

Praise God for building
His tabernacle,
for being the tabernacle,
for sharing the tabernacle,
for the invitation to the tabernacle.
And thank you, Lord,
for giving me understanding
of the tabernacle
at Your supper table. Selah (pause and give thought to this)

Note 1: The Altar of Incense was placed in the Holy of Holies compartment
when Solomon built the actual temple.

Note 2: The priest, Zadok and his sons, were descendants of Aaron of
the tribe of Levi. He bore the Ark of the Covenant under David’s kingship,
serving jointly as high priest with Abiathar.

David also chose Zadok (along with the prophet Nathan)
to anoint Solomon as king of Israel and Judah.
Solomon was to later appoint Zadok as sole high priest.
When God gave the restoration vision to Ezekiel, as recorded in Ezekiel 48,
He outlines the division of the land allotments
according to tribal affiliations;
God said of Zadok,
“The set apart and sacred portion shall be for the consecrated priests of
the sons of Zadok, who have kept My charge, who did not go astray when
the the children of Israel went astray, as the other Levites did.
This land offering shall be for the priests as a thing most holy
beside the border of the other Levites.”

The Three Pilgrimage Feasts Unto the Lord

The Lord said, “Celebrate three feasts in my honor.” (Ex. 23:14)

The purpose of the feasts charged to the Israelites
was to unify the nation,
to worship God (Adonai in the Hebrew tongue),
And gave birth to the signs of the coming Messiah.

In the deeper spiritual realm of things being done,
God called forth and ordained these three feasts
to be partaken in the preparation for the redemption of the spiritual body.
To illustrate spiritual truths,
And gives light to the inner workings of the Godhead
in foreshadowing the day of the coming King of Glory.

(Act I) The First Feast -
The Feast of Unleavened Bread/Passover (Pesach).”
In the Old Testament history of the Israelites’ deliverance from Egypt,
they were directed to eat of an unblemished sacrificial lamb,
and the blood of the lamb was placed onto the doorposts of their dwellings,
so that the “angel of death,” the last plague to come upon Egypt,
would pass over the houses of the Israelites.
“Do this at the appointed time in the month of Abib
(also called Nisan - the first month of the Hebrew calendar);
For in that month you came out of Egypt.”  (Ex. 23:15)
This was to be a reminder of their deliverance from the bondage
of enslavement to the Egyptians, and as an expression of gratitude to God.
Also during this 7-day Passover period, bread made without yeast,
unleavened, was to be consumed - which represented purity,
sincerity, and truth.
(This is also called the barley harvest;
it ripens first around the time of Passover.)
The Lamb of God, Jesus (yeshu’ah), our deliverer,
has now come to be ingrained in us - “The Seed of Life.”
The incorruptible Seed of God into our lives was planted.
He fulfilled the Passover.
It typifies the Lord’s death.
“Jesus said, I am the Bread of Life.”  (John 6:35)
And through His death, we are freed from the bondage of sin.
”For Christ, our Passover Lamb has been sacrificed.” (1 Corinthians 5:7)
And a new meal offering given.

“Jesus took bread, praising and giving thanks to God, and asked His blessings over it.
He broke it and gave it to His disciples, and said, Take, eat, this is My body.
He took a cup and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them,
saying, Drink of it…for this is My blood of the new covenant,
which is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”
 (Matthew 26:27-28)

We received our spiritual birth.
Our spirit was made alive by the Spirit of the Lord.
The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control
and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into
the kingdom of the Son of His love.
In Whom we have our redemption through His blood,
(which means) the forgiveness of our sins.”
(Colossians 1:13-14)

In this light… “There is no condemnation for those who walk in Christ Jesus.
Who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh
(the uncircumcised “state” of “being”), but after the dictates of the Spirit.”
(Romans 8:1)
(Circumcision indicated the sign of a covenant relation,
and seal/mark of righteousness.  Rom. 2&4)
God looks upon all in Christ as being completely acceptable to Him.
We are considered righteous in the sight of God…
“…Having forgiven us all our transgressions.”  (Col. 2:13)
The spots and blemishes are still upon us,
But when God looks upon us, all God sees is the blood.
We are covered by the blood of the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.

He was made like His brethren in every respect, in order that
He might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in the things related to God,
to make atonement and reconciliation for the sins of the people.”  (Hebrews 2:17)

The Messiah’s promised return of His Holy Spirit to empower us is -
(Act II) “The Feast of Pentecost.”
It is the Second Feast - also known as
The Feast of the Jewish Harvest/The Feast of Weeks (Shavuot)”
To take place, “when you start to harvest the first fruits of your fields
of what you sow in the fields (wheat harvest).”  (Ex. 23:16)
It is called The Feast of Weeks because it was observed seven weeks
after the first day of Passover at Mt. Sinai -
where the Israelites received the law (the Torah).
It is rendered in the Greek as Pentecost to denote – “50th day.”
It is symbolic of, and identified with, the covenant between God
and His people, and commemorates the giving of the law.
The bread on this occasion was made of newly harvested grain baked
with leaven.”   (Lev. 23:17)

Leaven” under the present order is indicative of the impure
body of Christ” - the present church.
But we have a promised new life through the inception of the Holy Spirit
coming into His people at the time of Pentecost as transcribed in the
Book of Acts.” Giving us ear to God’s Voice.
And making us receptors and vessels to receive the counsel of His truths.
The Counselor (Advocate, the Strengthener, the Helper, Intercessor),
the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name,
will teach you all things.” (John 14:26)

We gain entrance into the door of holy communion with the Most High.
And “clothed with power from on high.”  (Luke 24:49)
“And when the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all
assembled together in one place (in one accord).

When suddenly there came a sound from heaven
like the rushing of a violent tempest blast,
And it filled the whole house in which they were sitting.
And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire,
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit…”   (Acts 2:1-4)
Jesus returned as the indwelling Holy Spirit.
We were sealed.

Jesus spoke it - “I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it
or perish through the ages, (by no means be destroyed).
And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand.”  (John 10:28)

At Jesus’ ascension, He said, “I go to My Father.
The works I shall do, you do also, and greater works than these
you shall do.”  (John 14:12)
The Father is an omnipresent “Spirit.”
Jesus went to the Father.
Saith the Lord Himself, “I and the Father are one.”
(John 10:30)

“Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me.”
(John 14:11)
And the Father is in Him….”reconciling the world unto Himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them,
and has committed into us the Word of reconciliation.”  (II Cor. 5:19)

We are sealed by the Holy Spirit with a promise.
“I will put my teaching into their innermost being and write it
on their hearts.” (Jeremiah 31:31)
His Spirit has come back to us.  All that Jesus is.
And you are in Him, made full and having come into the fullness of life
in Christ being filled with the Godhead - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Col. 2:10)
This is His coming as the indwelling spirit.

The Spirit has come in power to remove every spot and sin,
to  deal with our sinful nature.
“From now on we regard and estimate no one from a purely human point
of view, even though we once did estimate Christ from a human viewpoint
as a man. Yet now we know Him no longer in terms of the flesh.”  (IICor. 5:16)

He already dwells within by His Spirit.
He is not coming down, but rising within us as He works His nature in us.

And after we have been tried by fire -
to purify the heart and electrify the mind,
tested for endurance - where we learn obedience and the lessons
of the overcomer, and proven to earn the right to be as God,
we will enter into the new promised land.

(Act III) At the Third Feast –
The Feast of Tabernacles.”
“You should keep the “Feast of Ingathering/Tabernacles (Sukkoth/Succot)”
during Tishri (autumn), when you gather in the fruits of your labor
from the fields.” (Exodus 23:16)
You shall observe the Feast of Weeks, the first fruits of wheat harvest,
and the Feast of Ingathering (the grapes harvest) at the year’s end.”
 (Exodus 34:22)
It was to commemorate God’s sheltering and protection of Israel
during their wilderness experience.

According to Old Testament law of Israel, the first portion of any harvest
was gathered prior to the full harvest and dedicated to God,
in a gesture that the whole belonged to Him.  The first grain to ripen,
following the entire field of wheat would eventually come to maturity.
(Taken from a study with Preston Eby).

After which follows the “Year of Jubilee,”
The blowing of the ram’s horn.
The Israelites possessing the Promise Land –
freeing of indentured servants, family renewal, land redemption.

We are now at the end of the “Church Age.”
The church is a mix of flesh and spirit.
With its divisions and derisions,
Infighting and backbiting.  Its fears and jeers.
Its condemnations and suffocations.
Its rules and rituals, traditions and conditions.
“My people perish for lack of knowledge.”  (Hosea 4:6)
And know little on the truths and nature of the Feast of Tabernacles.
But there is a remnant who hears “His Voice.”

“The King will say to those at His right hand, Come,
you blessed of My Father, receive as your inheritance,
the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.” (Matt. 25:34)
We are the land.
The land is a realm of spirit where we walk in the fullness
that Jesus purchased for us.
The Holy Spirit guaranteed our inheritance in anticipation of full
redemption and our acquiring possession of it - to the praise of His Glory. Amen!
“For creation waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons
to be made known (for the disclosing, the revealing of their sonship).”
“For creation (nature) was subjected to frailty (to futility,
condemned to frustration), not because of some intentional fault on its part,
but the will of Him who so subjected it.”(Rom. 8:19-20)

At Tabernacles - we receive our new body.
We become the manifestation of the Son.
We become true expressions of His substance.

“…They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven
(which means, the manifestation of the divine glory, the divine presence)
with power and great glory manifested in a divine company,
The Sons of God.” (Matt. 24:30)

Note:  When Moses completed the structuring of the tabernacle,
“A cloud (manifestation of the divine glory, divine presence) covered
the tent of meeting and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.”  (Ex. 40:34)

But it is not the spiritual life which came first, but the physical
and then the spiritual.” (1 Cor. 15:46)

“He who has an ear, let him hear.”  (Matt. 11:15)
