Fear

Fear

is...

Being terrified
Of something,
Of someone
Who might
Perhaps
Maybe
Create an alarming situation
Of dread
Of horror,
Instilling within a sense
Of trepidation
And consternation,
Planting roots
Of concern and anxious pause
To cause disquieting
Nervous unease,
And caution’s notes
On what promotes apprehensions’ captivity
Into the mire
Of what could be,
Should have,
Or what could happen,
If …

Fear Is

Suppositions and superstitions
Casting doubting dallies
In the valleys of what might become something
If or maybe,
Should the dams burst,
Which would,
Or could
Deliver a river of frightening dispensations of events,
Circumstances, conditions, situations, positions, status, state of affairs,
Eminence, prominence,
And/or ramifications in relations and vocations
Framed in congealing visions
Of images
In nightmarish discomforts,
Under-covered in repulsive revulsions of disgust, distrust
And dismay
Of what may be come
An awful taste
Likened to foreboding anxiety
In panic stricken proportions,
Scaring life into the corners
With dark shadows
Of paranoid suspicions,
Leery agitation
Confounded and compounded
By, and in, distress and apprehension
Where fearful thoughts
Seep into the body as disquiet misgivings
Sending the creeps
Crawling up and down the spine
Tingling unrest to the mind port
From torments of an anguished psyche sort
Singed by phobias of horrors coming in the night,
Raising the bars on the window sill
To seal in the dreaded omen
Threatening ominous ill will
By misfortune’s spiteful plight,
Discouraging hope of prospective light
Overcome by dark mines of hate
And gates to hell and fades to black
Stacked up against the
Fear of God and the devil
If being, or wonder
Whether
Frightened by life,
Terrified of death
Of what will, or not be.

Fear Is

Scared to see, scared to say,
Scared to look the other way,
Scared to move, scared to stay.
Being panicky about this and that,
Who, when, and what is going to matter
When all is just aimless mad-hatter clatter
Spooking irrational fears
Of stuff you heard tell
Someone said,
Instead of
What is so,
To blow
Phobias large and small
Into hampered homespun don’ts and doubts
To make you fall
For the bearer of terror
Of the great
Unknown,
And what’s been
Sown
As breeding seeds of contempt,
Hostile misdeeds,
Ignorant misleads,
Shameless proceeds,
Gathering up choke weeds
To impede development
For growth.
By being grounded and rooted in fear.

It Is
A crippler of gross proportions
Devised to guise the methods to ascend, to mount, to climb, to soar,
To leap and bound.

Fear Is

A retardant, which rises out of the dark recesses of the mind.
Coming in-kind to bind,
To blind
From sight
The might
To see the light
Of reason,
And right.

Fear Is

A deceptive contriver,
A conniver’s means,
To plot and scheme,
To ruse and rule,
Contraption’s tool
Devised to trap,
To ensnare
The soul in
The confines of
Don’t you dare!!!
Go there…
Or there.

Although…
When it comes as to forewarn…
As a admonition to
Beware!
A summons to
Be on the alert…
Well, of course,
Heeding the seedlings of impressions’ intuitive impressions
To, “Watch your step…
Can certainly be taken as guided wisdom.
And it would be most wise to take a moment to hear, and follow
Caution’s note…
“Don’t go in haste.”
Think before you leap
Into the deep end of the pool,
Is a golden ruler
To measure the base
Without quenching the thirst
To go for the gold
And take a chance on
Faith.
The key to be
Free…
“To come out, come out, wherever you are….
Hiding here
In
Fear.

Selah,
Ruth
