Sounds…
tinklin’ the grass
strokin’…
rivlets
washin’ up
on notes float’n
in secret channels
on woven flannel
stringin’ lines and rhymes
in the spring time –
brushin’ strokes
in hues
of reds
and blues
into violets
and highlights
of golden ribbons
in the air –
where
the drum-whisk
briskly
touches
the base
in the open spaces
between
bee-bops,
pops and drops
hitt’n’ the floor
strik’n’ the core
being wet
like drenched sweat come…
coming…
down
hard
and strong
soft and tight
strummin’ cords
pitchin’ keys
across the seas
hummin’s and drummin’s
skit and scat
pit pat
and like that
bathed in the aroma
of breath gray and white
like light
in pink rosy beats
sweet
from the flushed clouds
hov’rin over in clover
and lavender scents
sent
from the petal dew
caressin’ the cherry vine
tastin’ the fine wine
savorin’ the flavor
of a song
when you touch it
just so
feelin’
…Jazz…
floorin’ the oceans
floodin’ the seas
flowin’ hither
this river
pourin’
up’n down town
…this sound…
Ah!
Oh.
sooo…
good
this sea of Galilee
immershing
itself
into me…
a rhapsody…
in melody …like rain
ripplin’ up against
my window pane
drippin’ its dew…
on a hot summer night
‘round midnight blue
coming through…
body and soul…
streaming…
…Jazz…
